Made by a pair of SQUARES
SQUARES was founded in 2024 as Drew and Minji's creative playground. Our products are inspired by functional design and our special interests (e.g., nostalgic games, ghost cats). We design and make all of our items in our small studio in Occupied Coast Salish territory (so-called Seattle, Washington). Our range of goods include hand-drawn stickers, magnets, clicky keychains, home/houseplant decor, headphone stands, and funky lamps! We use 3d printing, resin printing, and hand-built ceramics as our main materials.
We find comfort in using non-verbal communication to convey different feelings. Oftentimes, it's difficult for us to articulate in words how we feel, even to friends we have known for years. The action of gifting conveys, "I was thinking of you; I hope you like it". We hope that our products can be enjoyed and shared by more people.
About Drew
Drew (he/it) is a coffee cutie mechanical design engineer. When not designing and engineering, Drew enjoys driving fast laps on the racetrack and drinking slow tea from a nice cup.
About Minji
Minji (she/her, a bit shy) has a love for all things 90s~Y2K shoujo, magical girl anime, and crocheting. She is an autistic early childhood educator and budding illustrator.
Community Impact
From the inception of SQUARES, we had a vision of giving back to our community. We set out to accomplish this by donating a portion of our profits to local organizations. Donations this season will be made to the Rainier Valley Food Bank in South Seattle, Washington (https://www.rvfb.org/). The Rainier Valley Food Bank serves a community that is 70% BIPOC and 40-50% immigrant or refugees by providing dignified and culturally appropriate access to food and other services.
